Exterior of Himmelfarb LibraryBecause of the expected protest and rally activity impacting the Foggy Bottom Campus, the Himmelfarb Library will be among the University buildings closed. Himmelfarb Library will be closed from Saturday August 11 at midnight until 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018. Please see the campus advisory notice for more detailed information on how the weekend's events are expected to affect activities on campus.

Until May 25th, for every non-perishable item you bring to the Circulation Desk, you can clear a dollar off your fines!  All items will be donated to The Store, a student-run food pantry at GW.

Clear out your pantry, settle up your fines, and help people in need!

Air Handler Replacement Project

Facilities has entered the phase of the Air Handler Replacement project where they have to demolish the existing concrete foundational pads. This work will be conducted internally to Ross Hall within the 3rd Floor mechanical space.

There will be very loud noises (jack hammering) and some vibrations felt throughout Ross Hall during this work period.

The work schedule will be 7:00AM to 6:00PM each of the following days: December 20-22, 2017 and December 26-29, 2017.

I-Street Mall Concrete Replacement Project

Facilities will resume the I Street Mall Concrete Replacement project.

There will be very loud noises (jack hammering) and some vibrations felt throughout Ross Hall during this work period.

The work schedule will be 7:00AM to 4:00PM each of the following days: December 20-23, 2017 and December 26-30, 2017 weather permitting.

The Himmelfarb Library elevator will be out of service for replacement from September 11, 2017 through November 29, 2017. This project will also cause some noise disruptions in the library although the noisiest times will be from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the B2 level on weekdays only.

Air handlers on the library's roof will be replaced between September 15 and October 15, 2017. This project will cause some noise on the 3rd floor rooftop on weekdays.

Once you're looking at a room, you can also search/filter by the software available on each workstation. Click on the magnifying glass in the upper right, then choose the desired software program. The computers with that program will display on the map; you can also expand the search to the other rooms at this point.

This online computer availability service is available via the campus network (wired, GWireless) or via the VPN if you are off-campus.

IMG_0712Himmelfarb Library will close at midnight on Tuesday, March 14 due to inclement weather.

Himmelfarb Library is open for a study hall until noon today. The library's front desk will be staffed from noon to midnight. Reference is offering chat services from 8:30-5. The library will CLOSE at midnight and return to normal hours Wednesday morning at 7:30.
