Each year, GW Research Days provides a showcase for research and scholarship occurring at The George Washington University.  Over two days, faculty and undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students showcase their research and highlight the scope of research occurring at GW.

Himmelfarb Library interviewed eighteen GW Research Days presenters.  Watch the videos to learn more about health sciences research at GW!

Do you feel inspired by Himmelfab's art exhibit and want to create your own masterpiece?  Is the stress of the semester getting the best of you and you'd like a fun way to enjoy your lunch hour?

IMG_3981Come to the Art Therapy session on Friday, April 27 from 12:00-1:00  in the library's first floor alcove and do both!  The GW Art Therapy Center will lead you through a fun silk painting session.  This forgiving medium is prefect for creating abstract designs so don't worry if you don't consider yourself artistic!

The event is free but space is limited so be sure to sign up today!

policymap
Please provide your feedback on PolicyMap before the trial expires at the end of February!  We are particularly interested in if and how you might use PolicyMap to support teaching and research.
Himmelfarb Library has a trial during February for PolicyMap.

PolicyMap offers easy-to-use online mapping with data on demographics, real estate, health, jobs and more in communities across the US.    Here's a sample of what you can do with PolicyMap:

Instructors may also want to consider how PolicyMap could be used in instruction.   One example is provided by Dr. Anne Hewitt from Seton Hall University who uses PolicyMap with her students to analyze vulnerable populations.

You can access PolicyMap from on-campus locations or from off-campus locations via GW's VPN.

Please provide feedback on PolicyMap to Laura Abate (leabate@gwu.edu)!
