The PILOTS database (Published International Literature on Traumatic Stress) can assist researchers in finding publications on post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other types of traumatic stress. PILOTS is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs but does not limit itself to PTSD information regarding veterans. Instead, PILOTS seeks to cover all publications on traumatic stress in all disciplines and regardless of linguistics and geographic origins.PILOTS is freely accessible to all users and available on the Proquest online search platform which provides a User Guide. Each PILOTS record describes the relevant publication by providing:
- Title, author, and source information
- Subject terms describing the publication. Terms are part of a controlled indexing vocabulary (the PILOTS Thesaurus)
- Abstract/summary describing the document
