GW is celebrating the 12th Annual Faculty Award Recipients, in which two PBS faculty are recognized: Dr. Sherry Molock and Dr. Sarah Shomstein. Dr. Molock will receive the Silver Anniversary Faculty Award, which honors active status faculty who have completed 25 years of continuous full-time service by Spring 2022 (started in 1997). Dr. Shomstein was nominated as a finalist for the Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg Prize for Teaching Excellence.

The awards will be received at the Faculty Honor Ceremony set for this October! Congrats to you both!

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Sherry Molock who has received approximately over $1,000,000 from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for her grant “HAVEN: A Multi-Generational Suicide Prevention Program Embedded in African American Churches.” She and her team will be implementing the program in 12 churches in NY State. Dr. George Howe is a Co-Investigator on this project.

Congratulations Drs. Molock and Howe on securing funding for this important work!

Congratulations to Dr. Molock on her special issue titled Mental Health among Marginalized Communities featured in the Journal of Diversity Scholarship for Social Change. Dr. Molock served as both an author and editor for this piece along with her colleagues.
