As part of the Career Center’s Graduate School night, Psi Chi is hosting a Graduate School Panel (5:30-6:30pm in Marvin 311) as a breakout session after the plenary session (4:30-5:30pm in Marvin 309). There will be a panel of professors and current psychology graduate students, who will discuss the process or applying to graduate schools.

If you're interested in learning more about what it takes to get into graduate school in Psychology, what you need to do now to prepare, and what it's like as a graduate student and faculty member later on, this event is a great way to find out!

The application to apply to be a part of Psi Chi closed on March 22nd. To be eligible to apply you must meet the following criteria:

Be an undergraduate or graduate students.

Undergraduate students must have:

  1. have completed at least 9 semester hours or the equivalent of Psychology coursework
  2. have completed at least 3 semesters or equivalent of the college course;
  3. have a rank in the upper 35% of their class in general scholarship                                  a. Seniors must have 3.53 GPA or higher
  4. Juniors must have 3.51 GPA or higher
  5. Sophomores must have 3.43 GPA or higher
  6. have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the major (Psychology) as determined by the DegreeMap
  7. have declared a major or minor standing in Psychology or for a program psychological in nature which is equivalent to such standings

Graduate students must have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in all graduate courses, including Psychology.
