The GWU Clinical Psychology PhD program's Colloquium Series speaker this past week was Taisha Blanc, who presented her second-year project: The Moderating Effect of Prior Community Violence Exposure on Adolescents’ Responses to Proximal Exposure to Community Violence.

Thank you to Taisha for sharing this important and interesting research!

Please join us in congratulating our first-year clinical student, Lauryn Hoard, who received NSF GRFP award for her project titled "‘Examining the effects of online vicarious racism on loneliness and social contact among Black college students: The role of racial identity."

This mixed methods project will investigate the relationships between online vicarious racism, loneliness, and intra- and intergroup contact among Black college students, and examine how racial identity might mitigate the negative effects of online vicarious racism.

Congratulations, Lauryn 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Please join us in congratulating Rachel Tache who successfully defended her dissertation, Cultivating Critically Aware Direct Service Providers.

Special thanks to Drs. Sarah Calabrese, Christina Gee, Emily Morrison, and Sangeeta Prasad who were on the committee, and Dr. Phil Moore who chaired the meeting.

Congratulations Rachel 🥳
