The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is looking for a full-time research/editorial assistant that will assist the director in writing and research projects. The ideal applicant will have experience in formatting manuscripts using APA style, conducting literature searches, and basic understanding of SPSS. Furthermore, the applicant will also assist with marketing, website maintenance, office operations, and scheduling intakes. Therefore, it would be ideal to have administrative and customer service skills as well. See below for a list of responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate school in psychology or social work.

Research/Editorial:
o Manuscript Editing
o Literature Search and updating EndNote
o Scoring intake packets
o Data entry using SPSS

Office Coordinator:
o Overseeing day-to-day operations
o Ordering Supplies
o Coordinating with vendors and building staff
o Assisting the director and staff
o Performing payroll
o Balancing bank accounts

Intake Coordinator:
o Assist with phones/conducting intakes for new patients
o Assist with scheduling current and new clients
o Help with billing procedures and electronic medical record

Marketing:
o Advertise practice via physical mailers and online
o Sending Email Newsletters to Listserv
o Updating Referral Lists

Training
o Assist with creating and marketing workshops
o Enroll participants in workshops
o Oversee training opportunities onsite and offsite

Website
o Manage and update content on website
o Social Media Updates (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)

Dr. Leahy is the Honorary Life-time President, New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association and Distinguished Founding Fellow, Diplomate, of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Leahy is the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Leahy recently received the Aaron T. Beck Award for Outstanding Contributions in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

Our staff provide evaluations and treatment for psychological problems, state-of-the-art cognitive-behavioral therapy, and training for other professionals. Many members of our staff teach and supervise in graduate programs and medical schools in the New York City area and have authored research articles and chapters on cognitive-behavioral therapy.

GW Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund 
Summer 2018 Student Early Decision Applications Accepted Now Thru March 1

Students who will be interning in unpaid internships this summer are encouraged to apply for the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) program. KACIF supports GW students in pursuing high-quality, necessarily unpaid internships that foster their career exploration and enhance their academic program, while reducing the financial challenges associated with necessarily-unpaid internships.

Facilitated by the university's Career Services Council and funded through the generous support of alumni, parents and members of the Board of Trustees, KACIF provides grants ranging up to $3,000 to GW undergraduate and graduate students pursuing internships that are necessarily unpaid.
