Please join us in congratulating Dr. George Howe, who just got word that his 4-year R01 has been funded by NIMH! The grant, entitled “Synthesis of Trials to Prevent Suicide Risk Behavior in Sexual and Gender Minorities”, includes researchers from Northwestern University, University of Florida, University of Chicago, and of course, GW.
Emily Lauster (B.A. '18) was recently quoted in a New York Times article, "Getting 'consent' for sex is too low a bar". Emily will be starting a job at Pacific Quest in Hawaii in September.
Clinical psychology P.h.D. student Barunie Kim, alum Sam Swisher (B.A. '18), and Dr. Christina Gee presented their research at APA in San Francisco, CA on August 11, 2018. Alum Katherine Pokorny (B.A. '18) was also a coauthor, but was unable to attend. The title of their poster was: Father involvement, coparenting, and cohabitation in low-income, ethnic minority mothers.
