Please join us in congratulating clinical psychology student, Sarah Cimini, on being awarded a DCPA Student Research Grant for her project, "Navigating Kinship Care in Washington, D.C.: Challenges, Strengths, and Support Needs”. She has been awarded $600 to support the completion of this mixed-methods study that will explore the experiences, challenges, and support needs of kinship caregivers in DC with a focus on their emotional well-being, social support systems, and sources of strength and resilience. This project will be a collaboration with the DC KinCare Alliance, a community organization that Sarah has been cultivating a partnership with.
The purpose of DCPA Student Research Grant is to provide professional development opportunities for psychology students in the D.C. community. Special consideration was given to research that exemplified values of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility; aimed at serving underserved communities; or adopted research methods most appropriate for social justice advocacy.
Congratulations to Sarah on this award!
