"Real-World Influence from Virtual-World Health Campaigns: How "Virtual Transportation" Might Overcome Message Resistance"
Dr. Blanton's social psychology research looks at the impact of embedding health communications into the background of virtual gaming worlds. For example, can adolescents' and young adults' attitudes and behavior about alcohol-impaired driving be influenced through their gaming experiences? His lab-based social and consumer marketing studies may help health communicators move their campaigns from the real world to the virtual.
Dr. Hart Blanton is a Professor in the Department of Communication at Texas A&M.
