Stefania Mariano was a Visiting Research Scholar from Italy during the 2004-2005 academic year at The George Washington University, School of Business, Department of Management Science. She was associated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her mentor at GWU was Mary Gowan, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Management Science.

Ms. Mariano received her Master’s Degree with honors in Business Administration from the University of Molise in 2002. She completed her thesis in Strategic Management titled “Knowledge Links and Competitive Advantage: Inter-firm relationships and the transfer of intangible resources. The Micromix S.p.A. Case.” Advisor: Dr. Elisabetta Horvath, PhD.

In 2002 she achieved the highest score on the PhD admission test. At present, she is a PhD candidate in Organizational Management and HRD at the University of Molise.

Before coming to GWU she worked as a teaching assistant for the Faculty of Economics at the University of Molise. She taught courses in Firm Strategies, Management and Organization of Service Companies, and  Techniques of Corporate Communication.
