The adaptation of Russian industrial enterprises to the market economy has remained a most difficult problem in the course of the macroeconomic reforms taking place in Russia. A mere change in the form of enterprise ownership doesn’t ensure a growth of production efficiency, and a low adaptability of traditional management to the market conditions has resulted in the production and financial crises of many Russian enterprises. Ensuring the mobility of their enterprises and their adaptability to changing conditions the managers made empirical attempts to implement production and organizational innovation. For lack of scientific and methodological substantiation these measures have brought about the aggravation of the conditions of enterprises. Today, therefore, Innovation Management has become the most vital field of scientific management and risk management of innovation processes in its basic section. Risk Management is a comparatively new field in Business Administration which is rather young in Russia. That is why Dr. Svetlana Y. Liapina is preparing a scholastic complex for students of the Institute of Management in Machine-building (the State University of Management) for the discipline “Risk Management of Innovation Projects” while she was at The George Washington University. To achieve this aim it is necessary to elaborate a complex of teaching aids and methods (about 200 pp.): The Research of Dr. Svetlana Y. Liapina at the George Washington University is supposed to conduct research in the field Risk Management of Organizational Innovation. The research results are planned to be used in the Doctoral Dissertation (Doctor of Economy). Main chapters of the Dissertation are following:

  • Innovation processes as a main tendency of the market reforms and their risks in macro- and microeconomic aspects;
  • Classification of the risks of innovation activity;
  • Economic modeling of innovation processes for revealing risk zones;
  • Classification of the methods of the risk management for innovation projects.
  • Shaping of corporate strategies at Russian industrial enterprises in the field of the risk management of innovation activity.
