During the 2000-2001 academic year, Natalia Prokopishina was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her mentor at GW was Professor Melani McAlister.Natalia Prokopishina is a professor in the Culture and Design Department at South-Russia University of Technology in Novocherkassk, Russia. She teaches courses in Theory and History of Culture and Ethnology. Her reseach interests include: Investigation of American National Mentality, Comparative Analysis of Russian and American National Mentalities, studying different world wide teaching technologies in EFL, a Culture Course, and a Design Course.

Natalia Prokopishina received a Masters Degree from South-Russia University of Technology in Novocherkassk, Russia. In 2000, she attended a summer institute at the American Language Center in Chisinau and received a certificate.
