During the 2002-2003 academic year, Alisher Abidjanov was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. His stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Alisher Abidjanov is an associate professor in the Philosophy Faculty of the National University of Uzbekistan. He teaches courses in Philosophical Problems of Anthropology, Political Philosophy, and Theory of Civil Society. His research interests include: theory of civil society, social changes in the transition period in Central Asia, and political culture and the democratization process.
Alisher Abidjanov received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Philosophy from the National University of Uzbekistan.
