Vasyl Nepyivoda obtained his M.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences and Policy from the joint programme of the University of Manchester (Manchester, U.K.) and the Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) in 1998. He earned his law degree from the Ivan Franko Lviv State University (Lviv, Ukraine) in 1997 and an engineering degree in Forestry Management from the Lviv Forestry Technical Institute (Lviv, Ukraine) in 1993. He conducted research at the University of Idaho (Moscow, Idaho, U.S.A., 1999), the permanent headquarters of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, and the Federal Forest Research Centre in Vienna, Austria, 1995.
Vasyl was a Junior Faculty Development Program scholar at GW in the 2002-2003 academic year. In 2008-2009 he returned to GW as a Fulbright Scholar.
