During January – May, 2011 Gulmira Yeshmuratova was a visiting scholar at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, School of Business at The George Washington University. Her faculty adviser was Professor Sheryl Elliott. Her time in the U.S. was supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Junior Faculty Development Program.
Ms. Yeshmuratova teaches the following courses: 1) English for Specific Purposes (Tourism Business), 2) Business Skills of Tourism Managers, and 3) Business Communication in Tourism Business.
In 1997 and 2000 she participated in two TEMPUS-TACIS international projects related to tourism business in Kazakhstan.
She has published several articles in the following fields: Teaching English for Specific Purposes, Tourism Management, Human Resource Development in the Tourism Industry. She has co-authored a Dictionary of English-Russian-Kazakh tourism terms.
