| Elvana Cela was a visiting scholar from Albania during the 2004-2005 academic year at The George Washington University. Her visit to the USA was sponsored by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her mentor at GWU was Professor Margaret Soltan.
Ms. Cela would like to develop courses on
1. Sociolinguistics (language, dialects, varieties of speech communities, and language and culture);
2. Discourse Analysis (discourse analytic approaches, similarities and differences in education, and conversation analysis);
3. Communication Studies (strategy and communication, communication and the learning organization, persuasive communication skills);
4. public Speaking (informative speeches, demonstration speeches, and special occasion speeches.) She currently teaches sociolinguistics and general linguistics.
