| During the 2001-2002 academic year, Tatiana Sedach was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Tatiana Sedach is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance, St. Petersburg, Russia. She teaches courses in “Investment Portfolio Management”, “Financial Management”, and “Cash Flow Management” and also supervises graduate projects. In 1994 Tatiana Sedach graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance in the Finance, Credit and International Relations Department with a Diploma with Honors. Then for four years she was a postgraduate student in the Department of Finance in the same university. In 1998 Tatiana received a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences (major – finance). The topic of her dissertation was, “Financial Management in Corporate Groups” (applying western experience to the largest Russian corporations). In 1993 she attended an intensive course in Financial Institutions and Investment Funds Management conducted by the Administration of St. Petersburg. Her research interests include: investments, investment management and analysis, and financial management in international corporate groups and holding companies. From 1996 to 1998 Tatiana worked at a number of investment companies in St. Petersburg. She was also a freelance correspondent for the newspapers Life and Economics, Telecom (St. Petersburg) and edited a column “Investment Indexes of the St. Petersburg Stock Market” (in Business Express Bulletin of the Federal Commission of Securities Markets). She has published 17 works: 14 research articles in leading financial and economic bulletins and three methodological publications (a textbook, a practical guide and a manual for problem solving).
