In 2000-2001 Yuliya Melnyk was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her research in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S.Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by the American Council of Teachers of Russian. Her mentor at GW was Professor Donald Weasenforth.
Yuliya Melnyk is a professor in the Department of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at the Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University in Kirovohrad, Ukraine. Her research interests are: EFL, Slavic Studies, marketing, and public relations.
Yuliya received her Kandidatskaya degree in Linguistics from Odesa State University, Odesa, Ukraine in 1996. Her degree is certified as Ph.D by NARIK, United Kingdom. Then she continued her education as MA in Journalism (Strategic Communication) at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, MO.
Yuliya Melnyk has got different grants funded by American and Canadian governments. She worked as a researcher of the Russian collection at the Newspaper Division of the Library of Congress in 2006. In 2007 she worked for the Ukrainian service of the Voice of America (VOA).
She has published more than 30 works and made numerous presentations at the international conferences.
She is married and has daughter called Regina. |
