| During the 1995-1996 academic year, Natalia Kryukova was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S.Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her mentor at GW was Professor Stuart Umpleby.Natalia Fiodorovna Kryukova is a professor of English in the Department of Foreign Languages, at the Upper Volga University in Tver, Russia.
In 1980 she had received her Diploma as an English Teacher, Philologist, and Interpreter. In 1989 and 1992 she received diplomas of Candidate of General Linguistics and Lecturer for the Chair of Grammar and History of the English Language. Since 1980 she has been teaching primarily courses in practical English and, starting in 1989, courses in theoretical English grammar. On a professional level, she is a member of the All-Russian Philosophical Society and the Byelorussian Association of Communicative Linguistics. In recent years she has published several articles about the use of metaphors and grammar. Although in the past her research concentrated on the usage of metaphors, currently she is studying in the areas of politics and international relations. Her publications include:
