Lara Jelenc was a visiting scholar from Croatia during the spring 2006 semester at The George Washington University. Her visit to the USA was sponsored by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her mentor was Professor Paul Swiercz.

* Position: assistant working with prof. Ivan Mencer, PhD
** Responsibilities: teaching in seminar class in the subjects of Strategic Management and Quality Management. Help in administrative work. Assisting in research and publishing the reserch conducted in the fields of Strategic Management and Quality Management.
September 1996 – 2001: List Opatija (newspaper of the city of Opatija)
* Position: journalist
** Responsibilities: covering the city events with a special emphasis on the unpublished history of the city, country and significant Croatian families as well as interviews with citizens who played a distinctive role in the contemporary city’s life.
October 1997 – October 2000: University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics
* Position: personal assistant to Prof. Ivan Mencer
** Responsibilities: doing regular topic repetitions and practical exercises with students, helping with administration tasks during final examinations, and assistance to Prof. Mencer during his scientific research.
November – December 1999: Kanal Ri (private local television)
* Position: journalist
** Responsibilities included: interviews with Croatian historians, extensive historical research, setting-up the TV plan, montage of TV material. Received exclusive rights for preparation of short reports concerning the history of the city of Rijeka.
