During the 1998-1999 academic year, Valentin Gorlov was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. His stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S.Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by the American Council of Teachers of Russian. His mentor at GW was Professor Andrew Spanogle.Mr. Gorlov received his first law degree in 1995 in Russia and his post-graduate degree in 1998 from the Urals State Law Academy. He received the Urals Fund for Social Research Award monthly stipend for one-year for academic excellence. Mr. Gorlov’s research interests are American corporate law and international business transactions.
