Research/Internship Recruitment Session for C&O Canal National Historic Park
Date/Time: Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 - 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Location: Phillips Hall 411 (Dean's Conference Room)
Description: This is a presentation aimed at GW students. Come join our team as we explore the past and piece together information on one of the nation's most intact 19th century transportation networks. The issues you will work are relevant to modern transportation, planning, and legal questions that we grapple with today. Students will gain skills in research methodology, data analysis, source verification, and public history. While much is known about the canal, there is yet so much to learn! Need a class paper, thesis, or dissertation topic? We challenge you to tackle one of our research topics, or come up with your own!

The WOWTALK (What’s Our Work) Series brings together colleagues and students from disciplines associated with GW's Science and Engineering Hall—and related fields—to present new research and share ideas. These short talks (15-20 minutes each) are designed to introduce members of the GW community to current and exciting research projects undertaken in labs in the SEH, to initiate discussion, collaborate, share expertise, and to promote research performed in the SEH and GW.
Please bring your colleagues and students to join us and network with each other. Refreshments will be served.
