GW Research Ecosystem Review

The GW Research Ecosystem Review is being launched as a major goal in the GW Research Strategic Initiative. Of course, this is part of the President LeBlanc's Strategic Initiatives. Four working groups have been formed to examine areas including pre-award processes, post-award processes, research integrity and compliance, and non-sponsored research and scholarship. Each group will collect information relevant to its focus. Therefore, you may receive multiple requests for such information (one being from me, see the end of email). Please do your best to be responsive to each request, even if it seems somewhat redundant. This is your opportunity to raise your voice so we can work together to grow our research.

The Research Integrity and Compliance working group has asked me tfor your feedback on the issues relevant to this group, including human research, animal research, laboratory safety, responsible conduct of research/research misconduct, data use agreements, export controls, and Public Health Service financial conflicts of interest. Please feel welcome to enter your thoughts in the following webform:

(DER), Sustainable GW announces the fourth annual competition for interdisciplinary teams of GW faculty to compete for research funding.The grant competition offers GW faculty and partners the opportunity to win up to $85,000 in research and/or living lab funding in areas related to energy and sustainability. Meet the President of William T. Grant Foundation

Location: Multiple Locations throughout the day

Description: Dr. Adam Gamoran, President of the William T. Grant Foundation, will be on campus for a series discussions including a Breakfast for GW Faculty and Researchers and a large public event on October 11, 2018. The foundation invests in high-quality research focused on reducing inequality in youth outcomes, and improving the use of research evidence in decisions that affect young people in the United States. GWNIC Lesker University Vacuum Technology Workshop

Description: The GW Nanofabrication & Imaging Center (GWNIC) together with Lesker Company is organizing a training workshop for Vacuum and Thin Film Deposition. The workshop should be of benefit to you and your students/postdoc. The workshop is free but requires a registration.
