Blakely is a fifth-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at GWU. She grew up in Smithtown, NY and went to Adelphi University for college. After graduating from Adelphi with a BA in Psychology, she completed a started a research internship at Columbia University where she worked on multiple longitudinal research studies examining the long-term impact of stressful experiences—specifically 9/11, domestic violence, and COVID-19—on physical and mental health in young adults. In our lab she has continued to study these constructs.
