The planning committee for the 2023 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) meeting would like to encourage our HE-SL colleagues to submit a proposal for the 2023 Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (CLDE) conference to be held May 31-June 2, 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts. CLDE is a collaboration of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), American Democracy Project (ADP), and  the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA.).

Boise State University is focusing its annual on-campus teaching and learning conference in May 2023 around Experiential Learning.

Dr. Michelle Kelso, recipient of the 2022 Nashman Center Community Engaged Teaching Award, has many years of experience engaging her students in the community. Her own scholarship has focused on EU migration and the fate of the Roma during the Holocaust in Romania.  She recently co-authored an article on Medium on the impacts of volunteer networks in Ukraine.  Read the article here

NIMHD will host the Health Disparities Research Institute (HDRI) August 7 - 11, 2023. Applications will be accepted February 6 – March 13, 2023. HDRI is a unique weeklong program that supports the research career development of promising early-career minority health and health disparities research scientists.

Each volunteer who signs up will receive an email from gwserves@gwu.edu that includes feedback guidelines, assigned papers, and a rubric. All volunteers must hold a bachelor's degree.
