Join Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic (CCMA) and University of the District of Columbia (UDC) for a two-part faculty development workshop, Assessing Diversity: Embracing Diversity and Building Intercultural Competence. These sessions will focus on assessment of the diversity centered classroom. Join CCMA and UDC for a two-part workshop of collaborative focus on assessment, rubrics, and rubric calibration in diversity centered classrooms. The application of these rubrics and assessment tools to support the efforts of university diversity offices will also be considered.
Sessions will include sharing teaching assessment tools and a rubric calibration session with UDC’s Director of Institutional Assessment and Outcomes, Dr. Rebecca Graham. Dr. Kimberly Crews and Dr. Wynn Yarbrough will facilitate breakout groups with assessment activities from UDC’s Discovery Diversity class (IGED 270). Participants who attend both sessions will have an opportunity to apply this work to their own teaching. An emphasis will be placed on active discussion and sharing of ideas and materials.
