Community Engaged Faculty, Professor Howard Straker

Professor Howard Straker, Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies, “teaches a course called Health, Justice and Society which includes a service-learning component where currently the PA students work with community PAs to produce patient education materials that are specific to their population and meet health literacy principles.” To learn more about Professor Straker's work and our Nashman Affiliate Faculty, please click here. Recently, Professor Straker and other scholars published Improving health disparities in PA practices: A quality improvement initiative. In the article, scholars work “to assess a quality improvement initiative designed to highlight awareness of health disparities and improve healthcare practices among participants” (Zuber et al., 2020).
