University Research Ecosystem

The George Washington University operates under a shared service model for sponsored research administration. This framework results in decentralized units granted a high degree of autonomy to deliver world-class research support that can scale with the mission. There are currently four Research Support Teams (RSTs) that service all the main research producing schools and centers.

Office of Sponsored Projects

Each Research Support Team has several co-located representatives from the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) who fulfill specific roles (pre-award, post-award, and contracting). As a decentralized model, OSP retains final signatory authority, but many functions that previously resided in the central office have been moved into the RST.
