Post award begins the moment a funded award is set up in the GW systems and continues until closeout. Unlike pre-award, which is largely deadline driven, many post award processes span months or years. It is vital to work with all the available personnel on managing a principal investigator's (PI's) research portfolio.
The Research Pod is authorized to provide post award support and works in collaboration with department administrators and any personnel funded on grants (such as research coordinators and lab managers).
Roles & Responsibilities
The Office of Sponsored Projects created a Roles & Responsibilities (RR) Matrix that outlines the Pod's functions. It defines the limits of the Pod's authority and clarifies workflow steps from initiation to execution.
This is a living document that changes as the needs of the Pod and research evolve. A Pod 2 specific version of the RR Matrix is available from gwresearchpod2@gwu.edu.
