Post award begins the moment a funded award is set up in the GW systems and continues until closeout. Unlike pre-award, which is largely deadline driven, many post award processes span months or years. It is vital to work with all the available personnel on managing a principal investigator's (PI's) research portfolio.
The Public Health and Law Research Support Team (PH&L RST) is authorized to provide post award assistance and works in collaboration with department administrators and any personnel funded on grants (such as research coordinators and lab managers).
Roles & Responsibilities
The Office of Sponsored Projects created a Roles & Responsibilities (RR) Matrix that outlines the RST's functions. It defines the limits of the RST's authority and clarifies workflow steps from initiation to execution.
This is a living document that changes as the needs of the RST and research evolve. A PH&L RST specific version of the RR Matrix is available from gwresearchpod2@gwu.edu.
