At the George Washington University, Research Pod 2 is committed to fostering an environment where discovery and innovation can thrive. We understand the critical role that principal investigators play in advancing knowledge and solving real-world problems. Our goal is to ensure that principal investigators are fully supported throughout the duration of their projects, from conception to closeout.
From proposal submission to grant compliance, we provide the tools, resources, and expertise necessary to facilitate our faculty's success. We recognize that the work of our PIs is not just vital for our institution, but contributes significantly to the global community through influencing policy, improving lives, and creating novel solutions to the toughest problems in public health.

Pod Activities
Pre-Award
The Pod will assist principal investigators (PIs) in the submission of proposals to sponsors. This includes budget preparation and review, support for non-technical documents, compliance checks, and other activities necessary to get the application out the door in a timely fashion.
Additionally, the assigned sponsored research administrator (SRA) will prepare the proposal package using myResearch and will interface with the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), within the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), to ensure timely review.
Post-Award
Post-award management occurs after the project has been funded and set up in the Enterprise Accounting System (EAS). During this phase of research, the PI fulfills the scope of work, oversees financial and personnel activity, and ensures compliance with university and sponsor guidelines.
Pod post-award team members can help obtain modifications and extensions to existing awards, assist in any closeout related activities, and liaise with other GW offices to complete tasks related to research.
