The upcoming Worldwide Climate Justice Teach-In: DC event on March 30th is a great learning opportunity for students to engage in climate discussions with their peers, experts, and members of other university communities across the D.C. area and learn how to take action on climate change, on campus and beyond.
The Worldwide Climate Teach-In is a project founded by Bard College's Graduate Programs in Sustainability. The Teach-In brings together D.C. universities to engage in discussion on climate solutions. Participating universities include The George Washington University, American University, Catholic University, Howard University, Gallaudet University, George Mason University, Georgetown University, Trinity Washington University, and the University of the District of Columbia.
On March 30th, each university will host their own events with various speakers and topics, followed by a combined keynote event. GW’s portion of the event will include lightning speeches on climate topics such as resilience, public health, advocacy, and more by various speakers, followed by panel discussions where students can participate in Q&A sessions, from 4 - 6 pm.
Topics will be spread across four rooms in the University Student Center during two sessions. Following these sessions, GW is hosting representatives from all participating universities in the Jack Morton Auditorium from 6-7pm for the keynote event, where students from each university will talk about a student-led climate group or initiative on their campus. More information on the Worldwide Climate Justice Teach-In: DC can be found here, including a schedule of GW's event.
