Professor Porter "will chat with Director Silvio Waisbord and Professor Kim Gross about the book and what lessons it has for the new Biden administration. The book analyzes the political consequences of disparity between the amount of time spent and the number of cognitive resources devoted to-being a consumer and being a citizen. It draws on more than a dozen original lab and field experiments and provides never before published data about taxing and government spending."
