The Office of Sustainability at GW invites faculty and staff to join the Green Office Network certification program. This initiative seeks to inspire sustainable practices across university departments while fostering a community of leaders dedicated to environmental stewardship.
Interested offices can begin the certification process by selecting a Green Leader and completing an online checklist. Certification is awarded on a four-level point system, with Level 1 starting at 20 points. Once certified, offices join the Green Office Network, gaining access to resources, updates, and opportunities to provide feedback on sustainability initiatives.
The Green Office Network is both a sustainability certification program and a collaborative partnership of staff dedicated to promoting sustainable practices within their teams. The program encourages actions such as turning off unused electronics, double-sided printing, and using reusable tableware in office kitchens.
To get started:
- Choose a Green Leader for your office
- Complete the checklist at https://forms.gle/fXTm8NU4gDSQjJFZ8
- A member from the Sustainability team will reach out shortly to arrange a walkthrough and formally certify your office.
- Once your office is officially certified, you will be added on our email list. You are also invited to attend the upcoming Town Hall!
Certification levels range from 1 to 4, with opportunities to improve your score during annual re-certifications. Currently certified offices include the Elliott School of International Affairs Graduate Admissions, Finance Division, Office of the Faculty Senate, and many others across various levels.
