Call for Proposals: College Student Personnel Discussion Conference on Higher Education Values, Identity, Belonging, and Purpose

From CSP:

We are seeking proposals for our 2nd Annual Conference, taking place virtually Feb. 7-9, 2024. This year's conference theme is Navigating Chaos, Embracing Hope: Practical Strategies for Belonging, Resilience, and Change in Higher Education. Reach out to Tiffani Riggers-Piehl, riggers-piehlt@umkc.edu for more information. This theme provides a pathway for all professionals and students who work directly on or in tangential ways to the field of higher education to address current crises and concerns within the field.

Higher education today faces unprecedented challenges, from attacks on DEI to shifting Supreme Court rulings, political upheaval related to world events and the upcoming 2024 US presidential election, the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, higher education at the U.S.-Mexico borderlands, concerns over mental health and disability rights, and the influence of AI, just to name a few. In this rapidly evolving moment, we invite scholars to contribute to the understanding and advancement of strategies for belonging, resilience, and change in higher education.

The conference committee seeks innovative research, practitioner, and theory-based proposals that address the multifaceted challenges facing higher education as well as proposals that focus on the preservation of individual or collective hope, well-being, or fulfillment in response to these challenges in higher education today and as we look toward the future.

In addition, we also invite you to join our Conference Program Team. Conference Program Team member duties include and may not be limited to reviewing conference program proposal submissions, organizing conference logistics, planning day-of conference attendee interactions.
