Join CCMA and UDC for a two-day virtual workshop examining curriculum, activities, and assessment for Intercultural Competency. The workshop will include break-out groups with teaching activity sharing, as well as participatory activities led by Dr. Kim Crews and Professor Robert Dantzler from UDC’s Interdisciplinary General Education program. Tara Rama-Davis, Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager at the Alzheimer’s Association, will provide the keynote talk on October 9th. Professor Robert Dantzler will lead teaching activities used in UDC’s award winning IGED 270, Discovery Diversity class. Participants who attend both sessions will have an opportunity to participate in the teaching Intercultural Competency training used at UDC as well as share the work being done on their own campuses.

University of Delaware (UD), a Carnegie Foundation Community Engaged Certified University, developed open-source tools to collect annual data from faculty and staff, students, and community partners regarding UD’s community engagement efforts. In this program we will review the development, refinement, and application of a university-wide logic model including indicators and objectives. The presentation will leave time for questions and discussion about measuring community engagement, as well as dialogue about how to translate this research to other universities and settings.
