Apply for 2013 Research Assistant Opportunity

From climate change to healthcare IT to the economics to the use of growth hormones in food to presidents at war, next semester’s research assistant opportunities are great!  Don’t miss out!
Why would you want to be a research assistant?  You get an opportunity to do advanced scholarly work, partnering with a research faculty member here at GWU.  Pick a topic that’s interesting to you (or go out on a limb and try exploring something completely new!)  Some of these can even be complete for credit.
Check out the opportunities for fall 2013, and apply now!

A Walk of Support

UHP student Derek Lee is participating in a walk for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The walk, hosted through the Kappa Alpha chapter (Derek’s fraternity) on campus, will be held on Sunday March 24th at 11AM starting in Kogan Plaza.  A lunch will be served following the walk.
There is a $15 sign-up fee, which will cover the food and a T-shirt for the event.
Derek is a team captain, and different teams are competing to see who can raise the most funds.  If you’d like to join his team and participate in the walk:
Sign up on this Google Doc: http://goo.gl/b86WS and email Derek at dereklee@gwu.edu to arrange to pay $15 for the event.
If you’d like to participate independently, see this link: http://www.musclewalkmda.org/GWKA

“Game changer.” We heard it so many times during the 2012 U.S. presidential election. But what actually made a difference—and what was just hype? John Sides will tell the story of the election in just a few graphs — using a “moneyball” approach that gets beyond the anecdote, folklore, and conventional wisdom that often pass for election analysis.

Tuesday, March 19th from 11:30am-12:30pm in Ames 101Q (MVC).
Seats are capped at 15, so register now!
