Developing Digital Professional Portfolios
[* The spring electives EDUC 6425 & EDUC 6428 will be offered in alternate years - 6425 will run odd years and 6428 even years.]
In this course, you will develop an online, digital, professional portfolio. In the process, you will examine where you have been, where you are, and where you want to go professionally. In many ways, this course is like a journey, one that requires planning, exploration, and discovery--all about you! Not only will you learn more about your strengths and areas in which you want to grow professionally, but you will also develop skills and knowledge in the design, development, integration, and use of multimedia resources in the process of creating your own professional digital portfolio.
Objectives:
- Examine the different types of portfolios that exist.
- Describe the typical components of a digital portfolio.
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages to using a variety of hardware and software for creating digital portfolios.
- Apply the digital portfolio development process.
- Design a web-based digital portfolio.
- Reflect on the digital portfolio development process.
- Critique the contents of their peers’ digital portfolios.
