Developing Effective Training with Technology
[* The spring electives EDUC 6425 & EDUC 6428 will be offered in alternate years - 6425 will run odd years and 6428 even years.]
What is effective training? How do adults learn best? How can we use and integrate technology in training? How is the use of technology changing how those in organizations work and learn? To answer these questions, among many more, you will examine theories, principles, models, and strategies for designing training with technology for adults. Generally, the goal of this course involves learning about the planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of highly effective technology-rich training that address institutional and organizational needs.
Objectives: In this course, students will:
- Conduct a target audience analysis;
- Make appropriate and justifiable media-selection decisions;
- Design and develop a technology-rich training plan;
- Analyze and synthesize current research findings related to technology applications in training; and
- Evaluate technology-rich training and make suggestions for improvement.
