Advancing Chemistry Research by Integrating Green Chemistry and Science Policy
Growing public awareness about the state of our environment, chemical product safety, and new chemical regulatory policies is driving demand for chemists with training in environmental and green chemistry. Tomorrow’s decision-makers in business, government, and non-governmental organizations will need to understand the fundamental physical science underlying both the environmental challenges we face and potential innovative solutions. To fill this need, the GW Chemistry department has built a strong foundation in this field, through both research and a unique MS program that combines environmental and green chemistry. Here we build on that foundation with a unique interdisciplinary research experience for undergraduates (REU) that will combine diverse areas of environmental and green chemistry with science policy.
