Save the Date: What Exactly is Critical Race Theory?

On Wednesday, October 6th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm ET, GSEHD will be hosting a workshop titled, “What Exactly is Critical Race Theory?” The workshop will feature three different speakers covering three separate topics.

Dr. Ashley Stone, Clinical Assistant Professor of Education at Southern Methodist University will discuss the origins and major principles of Critical Race Theory from 10:15-11am (ET).

From 11am-12 (ET), Dr. Julia Storberg-Walker, Associate Professor of Human and Organizational Learning at GW, will describe the relationship between CRT and whiteness and the role of white people in advocating for CRT and anti-racism. 

Closing the workshop will be Dr. Dwayne Wright, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives for GSEHD and Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration at GW. Dr. Wright will address some of the current misinformation regarding CRT. He will also share how CRT is practiced across disciplines.
