October 4-6: For Freedoms Artist Residency Launch at Corcoran School

GW's Corcoran School of the Arts and Design is launching a three-year artist residency with For Freedoms, an artist-led organization focused on using art as a catalyst for civic engagement. The residency kickoff features a series of events from October 4-6, 2024, at the Corcoran School and the National Gallery of Art.  Learn more and RSVP here

The opening events will include performances, talks, workshops on billboard and kite-making, and installations of For Freedoms' billboards. Visitors can participate in creative prompts designed by artists.

This residency, housed at both the Corcoran School and the National Gallery of Art, aims to create a collaborative space for students, artists, and community members to work on projects extending beyond traditional art structures.

All events are free and open to the public. This presents an excellent opportunity for GW faculty, staff, and students interested in art and civic engagement to participate in innovative, community-oriented artistic practices.
