Campus Compact is hosting a virtual Conversation titled "Reflecting on Student Activism and Preparing for the Fall" on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. This online event aims to provide a forum for higher education professionals to discuss recent campus activism and prepare for the upcoming academic year.
GW faculty and administrators interested in attending can register here. This event is free to Campus Compact members (which includes GW). For any questions, contact campus@compact.org.
"Over the past months, campuses across the country saw passionate and sometimes divisive interactions between students, administrators, and community members as we all grapple with ongoing wars and rising tensions. As these protests and encampments played out, campus administrations used different tactics to approach the issues."
The conversation will be co-moderated by Maurice L. Smith, Associate Director and Adjunct Faculty at Tulane University's Center for Public Service, and Natalie Furlett, Senior Director of Member and Student Engagement at Campus Compact.
This event is not intended to debate specific issues, but rather to serve as an open forum for colleagues to share how their campuses are dealing with the aftermath of recent events and preparing for the future.
