Campus Compact is hosting a webinar on "Before Burnout: Creating Collective Care through Challenging Times" on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM Eastern. This event is designed for higher education practitioners facing various challenges on their campuses.
GW faculty and administrators interested in exploring collective care practices and strategies to prevent burnout are encouraged to register here.
"Amid active campus protests, external financial pressures, and mounting election season tension, we at Campus Compact understand that many of you are focusing all your energy on supporting students and surviving within your contexts. Self-care often takes a backseat, reduced to wishful thinking about a summer vacation or a perpetually rescheduled day off.
We invite you to join fellow practitioners in a coalition conversation on 'Before Burnout: Creating Collective Care through Challenging Times.' Together, we will discuss, share, and practice ways of collective care that sustain us as practitioners before, during, and after difficult periods on our campuses. We will also explore how we can transform our commitments and practices into a shift in campus culture, starting with our own offices.
Come as you are - with your burnout, your best care practices, and your questions. Let's collectively envision a fall beyond burnout and towards a culture of collective care."
The webinar will be led by Dr. Wanda Cooper, Director of the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement at St. John Fisher University and Wellness/Retention expert and coach, along with Will Brummett (formerly with GW's Nashman Center), Student Engagement Manager at Campus Compact.
