Webinar Series: Teaching Publicly-Engaged Humanities

Thank you to Phyllis Ryder for forwarding this information.

HumanitiesX at DePaul University and the University of Arizona's Department of Public and Applied Humanities are hosting an online summer workshop series on "Teaching the Publicly-Engaged Humanities to Undergraduates" later this month. The series features presentations on courses and assignments involving community and public engagement, with opportunities for attendees to discuss their own work.

GW faculty interested in community writing and public humanities can register for one, two, or all sessions on the HumanitiesX website. The workshops offer valuable insights into integrating public engagement into undergraduate humanities courses.

Lisa Dush, Associate Professor at DePaul University and Director of HumanitiesX, describes the workshop series:

"We have some great presenters describing courses and assignments that feature community and public engagement, and each session will also offer attendees time to do a bit of thinking and discussion with others about their own courses and assignments. I encourage you to join us: there's so much common ground between community writing and the public humanities and I'd love to see us talking more with each other!"
