Webinar: Advancing Participatory Sciences Conference Panel

The 2024 Conference for Advancing Participatory Sciences is hosting a virtual panel on building equity in community research partnerships on Thursday, June 6 at 12:30 PM ET. CCPH Deputy Director Paige Castro-Reyes will be a panelist discussing strategies for equitable partnerships between academic institutions and community organizations.

The panel, titled "How can institutions build equity into community research partnerships?", will explore ways to address global and local issues like biodiversity loss, human health, and climate change impacts through participatory science projects. Speakers will share insights on:

- Building equitable partnerships in public health and aquatic species monitoring contexts
- Strengthening research impact across university systems
- Addressing power imbalances between researchers and community partners in decision-making, funding allocation, and outcome prioritization
