On Thursday, October 14th at 6:00 p.m ET, GW’s School of Media and Public Affairs and the Cisneros Hispanic Leadership Institute will be hosting a panel discussion in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month.
The panel will feature several Latino journalists: broadcast pioneer Ray Suarez, Society of Professional Journalists President Rebecca Aguilar, and freelance journalist Lori Lizarraga. These leaders in journalism will discuss challenging experiences as Latino journalists, and also the continuation of stereotypes in US mainstream news.
