Homelessness & Housing Insecurity at Urban Institutions and in our Communities: Roles. Responsibilities. Solutions.

  • Virtual delivery over two-half days: Tuesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 29, 1–5 p.m. ET.
  • Free event for CUMU members and their community partners.
  • Two tracks:
    1. The impact of housing insecurity and homelessness on campus communities (students, faculty, staff)
    2. The role of higher education institutions in combating homelessness in the broader community
  • Sessions will address issues of homelessness, eviction rates, housing insecurity, and others through a racial equity lens and will reflect on the intersectionality of race, ability status, and sexual orientation.
  • A two-hour follow-up session will be held on August 19 for participants for reflection after bringing their new knowledge and best practices back to their respective roles.

Homelessness Research Action & Collaborative at Portland State University has been named a CUMU research fellow. As part of their scope of work, they are serving as the principal lead and designers for this virtual summit.

Thanks to support from the Kresge Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, registration is free, but space will be limited.
