Oct 30 Nashman Faculty Check-in: Thinking about Spring?

At this week's Nashman Friday Faculty Check-in, we continued last week's conversation about teaching and supporting students in the days and weeks following Election Day. We also discussed student anxiety in general and our various responses to support them.

In spite of our initial reluctance to think about Spring courses, we all are starting to think about our we will continue to adapt and learn from our experiences so far. Some shifts will be needed given unfortunate changes to grant funded projects. Others described plans to meet with community partners to get their input on course design. This input is valuable for maximizing student learning and meaning-making from their service experiences. Everyone's increased comfort with virtual meetings has made it even easier to build a co-educator relationship with our community partner organizations.

All faculty are welcome to join these informal virtual check-ins, where we support each other through this unusual time to be teaching and engaging students in the community. We'll share resources and ideas, with notes shared here in the Nashman Faculty Update (use the Course Support category to filter the blog posts).
