Many thanks to all who attended the October Conversation on Community-Engaged Scholarship, on Partnerships with DC Public Schools. Resources shared at that event are available below.

- Thomasin Franken, Manager, Partner Engagement, Thomasin.Franken@dc.gov
- Ms. Franken presented a very helpful overview of the DC Public Schools’ current priorities and existing initiatives that may provide a path to partnership for many GW faculty and students.
- For those with an interest in other partnerships (shared research interests, opportunities for applied work such as clinical practice or advocacy, etc) she encouraged interested faculty to contact her via email. She will direct you to the person at DC Public Schools appropriate to your partnership interest.

- Charity Edelman, Nashman Center Senior Program Manager for School and Community Partnerships, ceddleman@email.gwu.edu
- The Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service and DC Public Schools (DCPS) collaborate on an AmeriCorps VISTA program that places VISTA Members in Title I schools throughout the city. Our VISTA members are college graduates who have come to DC from across the United States to do a year of national service. VISTAs serve with school personnel and community organizations as well as with GW faculty and students to cultivate community partnerships, create systems that track and develop school partners and create sustainable systems for partner and family engagement.
